Since 1983 Brian has processed his own wood, either by splitting logs for chair parts of having logs custom sawn for his chairs and tables. That continues to be the case, and thanks to help from The Southern Forest Network, The Boggs Collective is able to source timbers that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council(FSC) as sustainably managed. In addition, we have received our own certification for chain of custody. That means we are able to offer furniture that is FSC certified as sourced from certified sustainably managed forests.
At The Boggs Collective, it is our passion to create beautiful comfortable handmade artisan traditional furniture with sustainable wood harvesting practices. It will likely be early 2011 before we have dry inventories of lumber for sale. Meanwhile we are very interested in developing partnerships with other woodworkers and furniture makers that are interested in having us select, saw and dry material specifically for their needs. If you are interested, let us know what your anticipated needs are and we can arrange to have material prepared to meet them.
