This is an intensive class designed for experienced woodworkers. Each student will complete a signature Boggs 6-slat rocker. As a student, you will be involved in rocking chair design, material selection, and stock preparation. We will begin with parts prepared ahead of time. All turnings are ready to use, rear legs and slats bent, runners cut out. These preparations are necessary so that we can finish the rocker in a week and allow us to focus on the aspects of a rocker that are different from a greenwood chair. We will cover everything about ladder-back rockers from design to material selection, joinery, runner balancing and seat weaving.
You will advance your skills in, joinery, assembly, and seat weaving
